My completed build of the Airfix 1/72 Bf109 G-6, converted to a G-2 Trop . Quite a few alterations were made to the kit during the build, I scratch built various parts, and I created the base.

I used this build as a chance to try out some new materials and methods. Over all I am happy with the result. I used products from Humbrol, Vallejo, Uschi, and Mig Ammo. I was very impressed with the Mig products, I think I will be using them more and more as time goes on. They are very easy to use and clean up.

Build thread is here: https://www.scale-models.co.uk/threads/1-72-airfix-bf109g-6-coverted-to-g-2-trop.36728/#post-540613

And here are the final reveal photos. Thanks for looking in and following the build:

HI Joe well i looked through your build thread an i was amazed at what you have managed to do to such a small 1/72 kit an i like all the panel lines it really sets the model off for realism an i was very impressed with your finished aircraft on its base had you put on a ground crew set around the plane an took close piccys i would belieived it to be the real aircraft very well done a great build ps an did not the real
plane have the wirrley black spinner line ? as i just wondered as when i built this kit many moons ago i treid to paint one on my kit an failed misserably an it looked terrible so had to repaint over it

Thanks for your comments Chris, much appreciated. No spiral on the spinner for this example, I might try one on another build :thumb2:

Fine model Joe, nicely done :thumb2:
Thanks Steven :thumb2:

Brilliant job Joe. It's that old trick of making a 1:72 look so much bigger. The base is simple, but so very effective.
