Hello guys. Welcome to the 'Under a Bombers Moon Nightfighter Group Build'. Thank you to all that have said they'd take part.

The build will be running from July 2019 - October 2019

The aim of this build is to have fun and build any aircraft that was used as a nightfighter from any period of time.

  1. You can detail the kit as much or as little as you like.
  2. There is no restriction on the scale of kit you build
  3. How many you build
  4. Kit can be already started but must be less than 10% of the build completed

There are a wealth of subjects out there from either the Allies or Axis.

Please keep this thread on topic as much as you can. And if anyone needs help or advice then please feel free to ask.

Is it too late to join in? I recently built a Boulton Paul Defiant nightfighter and forgot I have a Beaufighter in the cupboard I was given by a pal

Well i was planning on a p-38m lightning but i found in the stash something i wanted to try for a while so im going to give it a try .Its the Smer 1/40 scale FIAT CR 42 Falco , which i hope to convert into a cr42 N caccia notturne night fighter. Thing is the tooling dates from 1959 and its 1/40 , so the detail is sparse to say the least and theres no aftermarket due to the odd scale but hey ho i like a challenge! I’ll have to do most of the markings from scratch too which should be interesting. Cheers tony

My wife bought me a Revell 1/48 BF110 G-4 years ago so this might be the time to build it. My heart goes out to a Zoukei Moura Heinkel 219 UHU but that kit is bloody expensive and my stash cabinet needs reduction because it's full :smiling:

I'd love to get one too Wouter but my funds don't spread that far. So i've bought the Revell ones and will add some AM to it

Just to put my build forward. I intend to build the 109 G6/R6 but i am waiting for a resin seat from Hong Kong so if it doesn't come in time then i shall be doing the 1/32 Revell Me262 B-1a

Ive got that one too in the promodeller boxing , got it from the car boot for £3 ! Not as much of a bargain as it first seemed though - the windscreen and front section of the canopy was missing! Got myself a vacform canopy though so its still a viable kit . Looks a lovely build too , great details, although the rivet counters reckon the nacelles are 2mm short , doesnt bother me though , it still looks the part ,and 2 mm ? Really ? Theyre not that much out are they . Cheers tony
