Uncle Night Shift!!! Aka Martin Kovac. One of my favourites. Maybe not the absolute best but I like his self-deprecating style. I'm actually about a third of a way through that one.
Hi Andrew

Big fan of his, he does some very good how to vids as well

Shocking fit, how on earth that got out of the factory gates i'll never know:sad:

He is very good but what I really like is that he's not afraid to admit when he's got it wrong or is doing something for the first time. And as for the fit absolutely shocking.

Hope this is clear picture of the two types of bolted on 30mm armour, protecting the driver. Top one is the Miag one with the missing centre bolt

Hi Chris, only used on StuGs built at Miag. March to May 1943

The main factory at Alkett only used the bottom one.

Completed the link and length tracks on one side but
20201102_130451.jpg

Made to the number of track links on the plans but track seemed to long, picture shows tracks with one less, may be a tad too tight now! The built in sag on the top is not enough in my opinion?

Had to use bluetac to hold the return rollars as the attachment pin is too short, also had to glue the drive sprocket as again pin to short and theres a second locating pin as well. Not impressed folks!

Hi Bob, it does look like it needs the extra link to fill the gap at the front on the bottom run, it depends on how slack or tight stug tracks should be. Maybe fit it in the bottom track run by the rearmost road wheel, to give it a bit of curve round the wheel looking at the picture.

Morning Graeme

I agree, but with the extra and its in the plans link it looks to loose. There is not enough moulded sag in the top run. Will have another look

Can you tighten the tracks by rotating the idler wheel or is it glued now??

Hi Steve, its held on by bluetac

Major problem is the lack of long enough rods on the drive sprocket and return rollars, had to glue the drive sprocket and it also has a small noddy on the back to locate it on the drive hub.
