Hi all

So, firstly I hope you and your loved ones are all keeping safe and sound at this crazy time.

Secondly apologies for not being around much. The current COVID-19 situation means that whilst I'm very fortunate in that I can work from home, working for a financial services firm as I do it means that we're very busy and so modelling time is at a premium, plus my WFH table is also my modelling table....
:(

Anyway onto the kit. I got this a while ago for Junior's recon forces and decided to get it out back in February for a club night I took Junior to for a nice quick build for the two of us. The only addition we made was to add a couple of rudimentary brackets for the radio antenna and metal barrels.

One of the more 'interesting' things about the kit is the brass axle, meaning it is possible to actually push around the battlefield
:D
!! The wheels are currently dry-fitted BTW.

I'm actually on holiday next week and so hopefully I will have the chance to get the AB out and at least give it a prime.

This was apparently released in the mid-70s and so as you'll see is fairly rudimentary but whilst doing my research I came across this review and as you can it can be 'tarted' up a bit if you so wish - link HERE.

Anyway enough of the rambling on - pics below as usual - unfortunately though I forgot to take shots of the sprues.

Take care and stay safe.

ATB

Andrew

I built two of those as wargames models a few years ago, and quite liked them. Sure, it’s a simple kit and can probably use additional details, but for wargaming I thought it worked very well — especially given the metal axles :smiling3:

Thanks for stopping by. And you're right nice and simple, if produced today they'd probably be labelled a quickbuild kit - perfect for nice father and son session!

Looks a nice little kit Andrew, I can see it's had a couple of tweaks too.:thumb2:

Graeme

Thanks for stopping by. I kept the adjustments to the minimum so Junior could help out.

Hi Andrew and Junior
Cracking job of this little kit.
Jim

Thanks guys. It was a nice simple build that turned out quite nicely. II'm actually tempted to get another one to do further improvements on.

Hi all

So yet another victim of my mass airbrush session. This one took a several (thin) coats before I was able to completely kill the colour of the plastic.

ACW as usual.

ATB and stay safe!!

Andrew

All ready for the weathering. Nice base coat to work from.
Thanks. I feel like I'm finally getting some consistency with the AB now and I late war British green can be a contentious topic but I'm pleased with how is turned out.

Hi all

So following the arrival of the decals last week I have been able to mark this up. The wheels also went on at the same time.

Although most of Junior's British forces are from the 11th Armoured Division, this is marked as the Inns of Court Recce Regiment. Although Inns of Court was a Corps level unit, they spent most of their time in NWE 44-45 effectively attached to the 11th AD, acting as their eyes and ears.
