Hi all

So this was another thing that Junior and I started back in February but I only finished the build at the weekend.

All in all a very nice kit with no flash and nicely detailed without being stupidly complicated and the instructions are very nicely done too!

I replaced the plastic barrels with metal ones, albeit it wasn't necessary to use all of the barrel as they seemed to have also been designed with standalone AA guns in mind, so I just snipped them off at the appropriate point on the barrel. The shot below does though show the barrel fully completed as an FYI. The picture below does not do them justice!

The only problems were entirely of my own making - the most obvious one being that I have had to glue the guns in place so they can no longer elevate...don't ask....
:'(
. The kit also comes with some photo etch side mounted sand skirts, although from what I've found online these were not seemingly fitted for use in Normandy. The tracks are single piece mouldings although it was necessary to glue in one sod the road wheels, sprocket and front idler.

Again, I'm hoping that this will see coat of primer at the weekend!!
:)
.

ACW as usual.

Hi all

So this was another victim of my mass AB session and so we have some paint on!

Take care.

Nice work with the barrels and etch. A bicg fan of the Crusader and its amazing how much detail there is on such a small scale. Great work

The barrels came out really well. It's a bit of a shame though that you don't need the full barrel.

Next up is the metalwork using my own specially patented technique!!

Hi all

So tracks and decals on.

This is marked up as belonging to the Regimental HQ of the 23rd Hussars, the senior regiment of the 11th ADs 29th Armoured Brigade.

I know they were only used for a few weeks before being withdrawn but there something a bit different from the usual.

The multipart star decals worked well but unfortunately I wasn't paying attention and didn't look at the from directly overhead, only from the front - DOH!! That said I'd quite like to do another one as they're a nice kit.

Next up is weathering. and a bit of stowage.

PS. anyone know why it's not always possible to change the title. It seems to be to do with the age as I can do it on newer posts. Anyone know what the time limit is?
