I'm hoping I won't regret this but I'm gonna have a go at a 120mm figure

I haven't tried a large scale figure for many years so I'm hoping it will all come flooding back

3 months sounds like a long time for a single figure but this one is a whopper so who knows

Anyway, that's all the excuses out of the way, here's what I'm starting with. It's a Maurice Corry figure, beautiful sculpting, hope i can do it a little justice

That's it, something to look forward to when I get back from holiday

It's a good figure with nice and crisp details.

I did a commission work on this figure a while back, it was fun to paint.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the pose but I never liked it.

Looking forward to see more.

Tommy

Glad you are joining in the fun (?) and what a superb figure. Just been looking at the site. Might have me one from there.

Three months does sound a long time for a single figure, but rather plenty of time, than having to rush it.

Yup, I'll be quite surprised if I get this one finished in 3 months

OK, I've got my figure painting head on for the first time in 20 odd years and this is my first time with acrylics, so be gentle

Over the last few days I've cleaned up the moldings, fitted the arms & feet to the body, filled the joints with Milliput and constructed the rifle

Yesterday I primed everything with Halfords plastic primer and this morning I base coated the flesh areas (3 coats)

Tonight I had a go with the Andrea flesh paint set and thoroughly enjoyed it, here's the result so far, not a great photo but you get the idea

Whatever your misgivings at the start, I think you got your eye in on this one.

A good start on the face.

Tony.
