Hi all,
Next up for me is another 101st Airborne bust by Young Miniatures... This is the Bastogne one so I’ve tried for the chilly and disheveled look...
As usual I did the eyes first before the skin tones...

However once I’d completed the skin tones I decided that the irises where much too big so I took the plunge and did them again...

still a bit more to do one the face as yet but that’s about it for now!
thanks
Jason

That face looks very good mate, a battlehardened chap, that's for sure!

Thanks all...really, really appreciate the comments... progress is going to be slow on this one mainly because my son turns 18 on Monday so I’ve been given lots of jobs around the house to do so the one household at a time who might come to visit isn’t distracted by the odd jobs I’ve been putting off for months!
so only had time to partly do the helmet today...I shaved some graphite off a pencil to try to give it a slight metallic effect .. Thanks for looking in for now

Looking good there, and the graphite sure did the trick!

Cheers

Really stunning work on the face. He does look cold. Looking forward to seeing this one come together.

Cheers chaps... once again..much appreciated!
I’ve made a little progress on this and hit a bit of a quandary?...
The figure comes with what I would call a bazooka which for some reason doesn’t seem right with the figure as a whole although I can’t quite put my finger on why...so I’m contemplating using a carbine from the spares box instead but that will have to go on his back and leaves the left side of the bust a little plain....I think maybe I will do both and see which comes out best???
Anyway here we are up to now..

On the plus side the graphite on the helmet has had the desired effect although it looks a little darker on the pics than it actually is!
Anyway Thanks for looking in!

Hi all... I’m pretty much calling this one done for now...He’s just sitting on a temporary plinth As I’ve got another on order. I’ve decided to include the bazooka but I will post some final pics once the new plinth arrives... I’ve taken some pics in different lights but you should get the general idea...Thanks for now
