Hello all,
Here's a small 1/35 diorama I started yesterday. Due to limited movement, after me and my bike parted company on Saturday, I've kept the model simple. It only took me a day to complete, but I did work at it more or less all the time. I'm not bragging or ow't, I did it as a sort of exercise to see how much could be done going at a steady pace....almost like a day job!!
It involves a building, a tank (ready built) and bits and bobs....
Here's the wrecked building. I usually get an idea and then draw the building plan on paper, but this time I drew it directly onto the polystyrene and cut the shape out. I know I always suggest build the whole building and then smash it up, but I had this in my mind's eye that this one had been gutted of all usable materials - wood for the fire etc.
Here it is stuck to the base.

Weathered using children's acrylic paints....Slap it on and let it run where it wants!

See how the paint ran down and did what it wanted?

Into the green house for some sweepings. Normally I would sieve the stuff, but I wanted a good jumble of all sorts...a sort of scavenged look. I covered the whole base with a good thick coat of PVA...then..

I smashed up some small stones from my drive and added those to the mixture....Some fence posts were added and a bit of ploughed field.

Here is the result of just tipping what I had straight off the dust pan onto a good soaking of PVA....Just what I hoped would happen....Scavenged!

That's it for the construction....A short and sweet one dayer build. Just the tank to show and something else! But I'll leave all that until I post the finished dio.
Thanks for looking in and any comments or suggestions well received.
