Thanks boys. Nice to see this return to port for a re-fit!

If any of you want to go through every possible model building emotion from "Wow, that looks good." to "Stuff this, I've had enough!", then a card model is for you.

Completing this, my first card model, gave me more buzz than any model kit I made before it, or after.

Re-scale, it's 1/250. Here are a few pictures to show the size of the model.

This is the vehicle cargo sheet made for very thin card.

Thanks again for the great comments.

If anyone would like to see how this card model went together, it's over in 'ships under construction'

Cheers.

Thanks Andrew.
As the actress said to the Bishop "Very small, but still good fun!"

Cheers.

OOoh what big fingers you have 570.

Joking apart you are the master of photography when it comes to displaying your models.
Where do you get these from is there a certain shop ?

Thanks 453!... :flushed:

I bought this one on eBay. Just type in 'Card Models' and you would be surprised how many there are to choose from.
I have no doubt there are other outlets, but I didn't need to look any further.

Just keep in mind the quality. I had to cut out the ferry parts 100% with a knife. Some are already 90% cut for you. Further more, a large percentage of instructions for these models are totally in Polish. Just read the blurb first to see if there is a translation included.

Also, if you do fancy a bash at one, don't be over ambitious. There are some amazing, tempting card models out there, but start with summat fairly straight forward.

Be warned, although they make up into nice models, there is no doubt they can be a sod to put together. Every cut has to be spot on. There is absolutely no margin for error. But the supreme satisfaction in working through the pain barrier (Believe me there is more than one) and completing the build is sheer magic... :thumb2:

John,
for purchased models - MODEL DOCKYARD - or - MARCLE
BUT, if you have a inkjet printer & some good cardstock, you can down load free models ( legally ) here - CURRELL - or here - DIGITAL NAVY - main advantage being, if you make a mess, you can print another! - the Minesweeper on DN is particularly nice...................
Dave
apologies, it seems that most of the DN downloads are dead!
I've just put up this link with other ideas!
