Thank you to Lee for suggesting this Group Build. It was a last-minute decision to join when I thought, any excuse to practice a nmf.
What a great kit this was. As I said on my build thread, I was looking for something a little more 'upmarket', however, this was all I could get at short notice. But what a little gem it was.
NMF is Alclad, any other paint is MRP. The finish was weathered a bit. Airfix freely admit they've interpreted old pictures and their choice of yellow around the cockpit could be wrong.
The decals, the many decals, behaved perfectly.

And there it is, a most enjoyable build. Any comments or questions, fire away.

That looks exceptional Colin. The very image of a well used workhorse. I love the variation in the metal finish.

Thanks Tim. Alclad is very adaptable paint for playing around with the finish.
love the weathered look you've got
I am slowly learning not to overdo the weathering, it's difficult to be restrained as I do like a dirty bird.
Beautiful work colin , it looks superb. Cheers tony
Cheers Tony. As you know, I wasn't brave enough to fill those wings in.
very nice photos too.
I'm the same as you Ron, point and shoot. If the pic is rubbish, delete and try again.
That Sir is superb. Very well done indeed.
Thank you. Although starting with a great kit like this one, does help keep the mojo levels up.
Cracking finish.
You might have guessed, I'm a fan of Alclad.
you must be pleased
It's been a while since a model put a smile on my face like this one. The Mustang has been promoted to 'Top of the fish tank' a position previously held for the last two years by a 1:32 Lysander. That's how much I like the little thing.

Very, very nice indeed Colin! A great motivator for me to finish my GB part-builds and crack on with my Mustang!
