Hi friends!

This is my entry for the first 2014 GB.

Curtiss R3C-0 (Fine Molds 1/48 Scale Model)

It’s a Japanese kit, based on a Japanese anime movie too.

The kit seems to have a normal quality and looks really easy to assemble.... ;)

Maybe the major problem is choice if I paint like the normal one (with a very shiny and gloss finished) or do a different one, adding some weathered touches...

However, looks a very fun, different and unconventional kit, so that is Genial!!!! ;)

Cheers

Polux

And some little story about it....

s/n A-7054 1929:

Unauthorized modification

The Curtis R3C is perhaps the finest American air racer of the 1920s. In 1925 it won the Pulitzer Trophy and Schneider Cup, the two major air racing titles of the day, and set a world speed record.

The plane is currently preserved in the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institute.

However, there are rumours that this “thoroughbred of the skies” was used at one point in illicit activities. There are materials which suggest a Curtis R3C, converted to fighter seaplane configuration, was part of an aerial pirate group which scourged the Adriatic during the summer of 1929.

Even today, however, this potentially dark side of the glorious history of this aircraft is shrouded in mystery....

Interesting one and I think perfectly in your style.

I'm more and more attracted from these racers and their era, i think i should get some too.
