I've added all the PE ribs on the fenders, and the rear decking has had its doors & bits added. I'm using leftover PE parts from a previous KV, for the rear deck grilles. I simply had to dry fit the superstructure............. super 02.jpgsuper 01.jpg
The fit is really good - I was worried that I would end up with large gaps to fill.
So far, the parts have needed minimal clean up, and the fit is very good - I must say that a well-engineered model is a real joy to work on!

It's a very dark gloomy morning, here in Gloucestershire - just as well that an overall black primer coat doesn't need much thought to apply!black prime.jpg
Cornflake packet masks inserted between tracks & fenders.
IF the light improves I'll do a first pass basecoat of green later...................

Hopefully, a minor pause in benchtime. I had a slight accident yesterday, and today, I've a stiff and aching right hand and arm, and a nasty bruise on my back, which is causing me grief when I move. Stupid overbalance, slip and fall. No alcohol involved! - at first I thought I hadn't done anything, but as the day wore on, I got stiffer & stiffer.
Have to hit the Ibuprofen, and have an early night.............................

Really like the subtle highlights and shading, sure the eecals will bring it to life - especially with a nice slogan

When I think of the knocks I used to get playing Rugby, - I'm quite dismayed to find that such a simple fall can shake me up! Part of the ageing process I suppose.
Weathering of the SU will not be massive. I see a lot of models that in my opinion are way overdone, more fit for the scrapyard than frontline combat! These tanks wouldn't get a wax & polish, but simple rain would remove a lot of the surface crud -leaving vertical streaking. As for rust - well, I bet most of these tanks didn't last long enough to get rusty on a massive scale. I intend to give this an overall misting of reddish-brown dust, concentrating it more round the running gear, and horizontal surfaces.
