Hi mate
The feathering is just dry/wet brushing with gradually lightened paint from black to lighter black…..or whatever colour they were….the secret is copying pictures of real wolves and putting your colours where they actually are, rather than where you think they are….once I started doing that I found animals so much easier to paint….

You should be arrested for creating such wonderful work in this scale!!! These are absolutely Fantastic Sir!!! Oh, and as to the Runes, does it mean "We Don't Need No Stinking Puppy Chow Here"??? Just a guess............Damn, they're nicely done..............

Absolutely brilliant work. My brother and I had a few wolf riders in our youth but they weren't a patch on these in terms of the sculpting and especially the painting!!!

Very well done indeed.

Glad you like them. I am also glad the sculptor never went with the Peter Jackson “Hyenas as mounts“ impression. Funnily enough, these wolf sculpts have been panned on other forums as not shaggy enough, but I think they are pretty much spot on, apart from a slight impression of fatness….
The Oathmark and Frostgrave 28mm plastics are very good value..

I do indeed. And definitely agree about the hyena look from the films. Not my favourite part. They really have turned out very well.

It's funny people complaining about them not looking shaggy enough.....

Let's disect that for a moment.....

..... They're complaining about a fictional situation....a wolf (weren't they actually called wargs?) that has been bred to be ridden by large fictional characters and so were bigger than 'normal' wolves....in a fantasy world that has magic and the like....that has and will never exist....

Of course I'm willing to be wrong! ;)
