Morning,

I am going button it up today so I will see I'm hoping that the interior detail on the engine box should be quite clear. It's a very difficult model to upgrade the interior because of the closed cab.

That's a lovely piece of detailing with the map and the guy reading the paper. Very nicely done. Glad to see you back safe and well.

Hi Martyn you've been busy with the none modelling then !

Good to see you back and safe as Steve has said.
Must be hard to keep having to go away and then pick up from where you were to produce something as good as this. :thumb2::thumb2::thumb2:

Tim, Jim unfortunately you do lose quite a bit when it is buttoned up but I know it's there and I have enjoyed doing it.

Scottie, thanks mate that means alot coming from you mate.

Steve thanks mate the newspaper comes in the instructions you just have to cut it out, as for the map it comes from a verlinden set I got ages ago it's meant to be a map of Omah Beach.

John, it's hard with all the home and overseas exercises it's difficult and then I try and spend as much time with kids as I can, so the only time I get to build is at night time and some weekend afternoons.

So tonight I have put the cab on and fitted the two big winches and I have fitted the fifth wheel and fitted the airlines for the trailer. I have attached some pictures 9f the progress so far. I was planning to leave one of the doors open but I'm not sure to be honest.

Just beautiful. Great details. The open door would provide a fig. challenge w/5th crewman on the step.

I'm sure the M26 had a crew of 7/8 men but there isn't enough space inside. I do have an extra figure I was gonna pose on the top of the swan neck as if the trailer is getting loaded.

Thankyou Paul I just need to figure out the securing points on the Dozer to secure it to the trailer.

Scottie I'm due to start the weathering in a couple of days. I think I read on your thread that you give the entire model a layer of clear before you start weathering ?

Yes mate I do, it seals the paint below and allows the weathering to be "moved" around rather than soak into the matt surface. I tend to use home made washes using oil and thinners and this system works for me. I'm sure the other guys have their own ways.

Yes, and yes! Give it a really good mix (I just shake it) or it won't be very matt. It doesn't need thinning for airbrushing.

Hi Marty
That looks superb. It may have taken a couple of years but there's a lot of model there. Equivalent to a few smaller, less complex kits. I look forward to the weathering.
