What have I let myself in for!

To say its a big kit is an understatement, I've wanted a Saturn model for a few years now and glad I waited for this one, although there is a lot of discussion on other forums about the inaccuracies I'll be building this straight out of the box, I plan to work on it between other projects and as I want to make a good job of it, it may be some time before its finished, perhaps in time for Telford :smiling3:

I've made a start on the first stage and engines, the staff car is to give you a sense of scale incase you haven't seen one before :smiling3:

Comments and advice always welcomed :smiling3:

That is a big kit, and although it seems fairly straightforward it can be tricky, also the paint job has to be spot on or it will just look awful-not that you will Adrian as your paintwork always looks superb.

Once finished you need this baby to go with it: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Crawler-Transporter-1-72-for-Dragon-Apollo-Saturn-V-LUT-Model-/230864935992?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35c09f5c38

I've already got my eye on those Si :smiling3:

The tower would make it even taller though and I have no idea where I would put it :smiling3:

I think it's around 5ft or something like that, so needs a nice corner to go in. Would look awesome on the gantry though.

Yeah the kits 5 feet tall, and if the gantry is to scale it should be about another foot on top so I've been told, I may need an extension :smiling3:

I like the sound of that, a extension not only lengthwise but upwards to house the model collection.

HOLY MOTHER OF...!!!%$!!!!

That thing is huge (said the actress). You sure you're not starting your own space program? Cape Willenhall?

Seriously that looks sooooo cool. I've seen this model with a gantry too which beggers belief but it does look very impressive.

Really looking forward to the next 'one small step for Adrian, one giant leap for modelkind!'

All the best

Paul

Progressing well on my Build, I'll post more pics later today.

The issue I have is now with one of the clear sections, as you can see in the picture there is a blemish and it's also cracked, is there a way I can fix this? Or is it worth perhaps contacting dragon and asking for a replacement if that's possible?

Thanks Richard, yeah I saw those pictures, there great reference material, also have over 200 from my friend who's been over there a fair few times. I was planning on going over March next year but Real life issues have now meant I may not be able to go
