A mate has a few models left from our miniature wargaming back in the early '80s. I said I'd take one and do something with it if he liked so he gave me this KV-1 kit. Unfortunately, when I opened the box up I discovered it was missing one side of the turret and its mantlet so I had to sculpt these out of Milliput. See if you can spot which side.

I have experimented with hairspray & whitewash, and acrylic wash afterward. There's still some work to do as I will be adding mud around the tracks, and will try adding some snow on the decks. Finally, I have a special presentation in mind before I somehow get it to him in New Zealand. I'll post pics at those points too.

Added snow. I didn't have any talc, and couldn't find any in the local supermarket so let's just say that the KV-1 will never get athlete's foot. ;^)
