Just about big enough mate….mind you, might need a bigger spray booth ;)

It is big. Though oddly enough not that big. I reckon a Panzer IV will squeeze on (as was intended in the design) but anything longer wont. I'm hoping my intended payload will fit.

Spray booth is the barn, so air temp is more of a problem than size

Beautiful job. Much trailer envy here, as no 116s in 1/87.

It would be a hell of a lot easier to display !

Scratch build ? Joking aside I have quite an advanced DUKW project based on an Italeri CCKW 353 that I started years ago. As far as I know a kit wasn't available back then so I gave it a bash.

I know you can buy one now but maybe I should drag it out for old times sake.

Waaaaayyy too complex for me. I'll just use Famos & Bergepanthers to drag my stuff around. I do have a 115 for little stuff.

Got one in the stash Paul, picked it up at Heiser"s along with an SdKfz 9, back in 2003. They were offered by Military Depot as resin kits with a photo etch sheet for each......I'll prolly never build 'em......if you're interested PM me. Rick H.

Sorry for jacking your thread Dan.

Hi Dan
Looking really nice. Certainly a big, impressive model. When finished it's a bigger display cabinet that you're going to need ;)

There was a vacuum-formed kit available in the 1980s from Schmidt’s Vacu-Modellbau from (then West-)Germany. I bought it and never did finish building it, largely because vacuum-formed kits are basically assisted scratchbuilding and so it was rather more work than I ended up wanting to do.

Until I get some paint on the trailer, I started on the payload , or at least a part of one part of it. I'll add a teaser, but if you know what it is there isn't a prize.

Great work so far Dan, have been off the mark with my Famo of late, not being able to post pics put a bit of a damper on.
Hopefully things will be worked out next month, been very busy round the farm with hard winter setting in any way.

All looking very nice indeed, I will keep an eye on of course.

Jim.

Just keeping it on the boil. Just.....

Got the base coat on the trailer, I'm not saying it's big but my phone cant focus on both ends at once.

Getting on with the real cargo, answers on a postcard please. Or not.

Also, I quite like a multi part chassis TBH, not a popular opinion I know !

Sneak preview of what's to come, or a"spoiler" as I believe we are supposed to say these days. I had a spoiler on my Lotus Cortina but it seems that's an "aero" now. Oddly it wasn't made of chocolate and didn't contain bubbles.

Hopefully the next post will be in the 'completed' thread, maybe after some moaning on the Bench thread...
