Here it is. Sorry about the quality of the pics, I only have a camera phone.

Sharp sighted Luftwaffe experts may spot the deliberate error.... I will say no more than that.

I am not pleased with the canopy. I really need to work on my masking of these.

I am also not very pleased with Modelmates washes that I used so I will try Flory washes next or use oil paint washes.

Paints were Vallejo Air with Model Colour for detail. Vallejo varnishes were also used. These are brilliant.

Smoke residues were artist pastels, sanded to make a fine powder brushed on.

My new H&S Evo 2in1 Fpc was excellent and I found the pressure control on the brush a real help as a novice and would recommend this.

Anyway a few pics:

I will be doing a few more 1:48 scale kits to practise and work up my skills. Not really there yet but its a start!

Now that's better Barry! lol

That is an excellent first or any build....Well done.

I wouldn't be too bothered about technical short comings just yet, I would concentrate on developing your painting skills.

The main thing is to have fun and just enjoy your builds and progress...

Cheers,

Ron

Very nice work. I recently did one of those, whilst i was happy with the finish I have not done any weathering to mine and think it would look better for it.

I would be very happy with that :D

Nice work on the 109, Ian. I'm not ready to do a camo job just yet.

Hi barry , sorry ive only just seen this one. What a cracking build, regardless of wheter its your first or not! Lovely mottle and paintwork , and not being a luftwaffe expert the deliberate mistake has gone right over my head. The only thing i could spot is that youve got both ailerons deflected the same way , but they are differentail , ie. one goes down the other goes up. The flaps inboard of them both go down but one of the ailerons should be going upwards. Doesnt in any way detract from a superb job though, well done . cheers tony

so is anyone going to let on what the deliberate mistake is (or is tony spot on with his observation) .... i have looked thru the pics up and down and can see nothing glaringly out of place ....not that i am a expert of any sorts on german a/craft. lindsey

OK, I will tell you.

I fitted the armoured windscreen. It should have been the other one. My problem was that I had some clouding problems and using the other part was the easier resolution to it. Lazy I know...

I know you said you weren't happy with some aspects, but I think it looks great. Anyway, I never showed my first model on returning to the hobby. It was truly awful !

Nice job,

Colin m..........
