Hi Folks

Here a re a few photos of the latest bust I have finished, it is of George Dowell VC. he was serving in the Royal Marine artillery.

On 13 July 1855 in theGulof of Finland he was serving aboard HMS Ruby when there was a explosion board a cutter, HMS Arrogant. He went with 3 other men to the cutter to give assistance, saving any lives. for this he was awarded the VC.

The bust was painted using Vallejo acrylic paints, with some highlights added to the face using artists oils. Painting the blue patrol jacket was a bit of a challenge.

Hi Peter
That is excellent. As the photo is b&w were there any other references for skin tones and hair colour?

Cheers guys, thanks for the nice comments.

ExtI think i am going to jump down to 1/285 scale for my next model - maybe a D-Day beach scene.
