Here's a nice film for anyone interested in the USAAF in the UK during WWII.

East Anglian Film Archive: 100th Bomb Group (edited), 1942-1946

Good stuff for anyone contemplating a B-17. My personal highlight? around the 15 minute mark Gabreski beats up the airfield at Thorpe Abbotts in his P-47,some nice footage.

Cheers

I've looked through other films in that archive and there are some great clips of Javelins and Lightnings from the 60s in there as well, bloody brilliant!

Just watched this one: East Anglian Film Archive: USAAF Combat Film, 1944

and there's a fantastic shot of a low-level pass by - I think it's a Mossie - at about 3:30 in. Stunning piloting.

I quite like the kid at the end with the helmet on. That young fella could very well still be alive today,I wonder what he thinks of our American friends today.
