Revell 1/12th scale Harley FLH-80 Electra Glide

being done for a Motorcycle GB elsewhere

old kit from the early 80s, not sure if the decals are going to hold up, comes with a little pit bike so might throw that together too just for a laugh

not sure yet what the colour will be, since its a Glide blue might be an idea lol, but it will probably be red

i did try starting this a few years ago, didnt like the colour i used on the tank, fairing, etc and put it back in the box.........ive stripped it back and plan another go

put the frame together tonight....one of those jobs where you need 3 hands to hold it all together

View attachment 108956

been tinkering with the little pit bike........gave it a coat of metallic purple.....just the grips and the screen to add, then some decals....thinking of going thro the decal stash for some race numbers and logos to tart it up

ive got most of the engine done, just about to re-chrome the air filter cos this kit has some of the crappiest chrome ive seen in a long time

Looking forward to seeing your chrome, I need to keep an eye out for what will look right on my r32 model in the future for the chrome grill which has a sort of satin finish not like full on chrome.

So far your bikes are looking sweet..

That's a beast of a bike and the glide is not a light bike I can tell you ( personal experience) ( old biking days )

I'm on board for this one

Your Harley Davidson is looking good so far Paul. Nice detail work, and that red has come out tops.

finally a splash of colour.............rear guard on, primary on, oil bag and battery on

ive made one little mistake, tried to give the primary cover a wash to pick it out but it dosnt seem to have taken as well as i would have liked, might try to remove it, but ive got to be very gentle, cant use anything too aggressive as the cover is something i rechromed

starting to come together

got to say that this is the hardest bike kit ive ever done.......its such an old kit and its starting to show......im not looking forward to the wiring as the tubing has gone a bit brittle, if i havnt got something in the spars box to replace it im going to try hot water to soften it up
