Looks very different in that photo, but it does look like a Ford Y type, made in Europe in the 30's in a few variations.

Or a Ford Eifel like this in Wehrmacht use.

No running boards on the Ford Eiffel. Look closely at the firewall on the wreck, it looks very similar to your depicted Ford. Rick H.

The rear panel behind the suicide door on the upside down shot looks larger than that on the Y type.....

That Y-type definitely looks close, but like Tim says, the panel behind the door is clearly too short. Still, I have the impression we’re on the right track :smiling3:

That narrows it down Tim and Jakko, it is either a '35, or a '36. if the 34 quarter panel and window are not long enough then it is one of the two I mentioned. The '37 and up will not have headlight buckets as they are faired into the fenders.

A possibility is a Ford 8, based on the Y type but updated. I noticed in the picture of the car upright, it has a disc type wheel on the front, not a wire wheel or spoked, any ideas?

Late '30s Fords didn't have wire wheels. I think the last was '34 or'35.

I think I’ll settle for “a 1935 or 36 Ford” as the closest we’re going to get :smiling3:
