help with plans for mallard

Hi everyone,

I am a scratchbuilder of many things and have only once built a train, it was not great due to the lack of information, do any of you guys out there have a good set of working drawings for mallard as this is a special year for the train I would love to try and build a mallard model from scratch.

I would suggest the most accurate modelling plans could be had from Isinglass Models I assume you would be modelling in 4mm or 7mm scale. You would of course require plans for an A4 class locomotive.A long with building modelling aircraft,I both scratch and kit build model locomotives,it must be twenty years since I built a LNER locomotive (the last was for a commission) as I normally specialise in pre group locomotives,Isinglass has always had a reputation for producing excellent and accurate plans for LNER locomotives.

Hi Malcolm,

thanks very much for the link thats further than I have got before and maybe in the future a mallard may be born again, as for scale thats just numbers I go of size the finished model could be anywhere between 20 inches long to five feet long it depends on my resources and mood if I want to have a long term or short term project.
