After a few weeks away from the bench, I finally raised a bit of enthusiasm - A simple model - about 20 parts, the trickiest part was masking the tail & fuselage bands. Spray overall silver, then mask to paint the red bands?, or paint the tail & fuselage red, mask & spray silver?
In the end I painted the tail red - I have found in the past that painting over silver can cause problems.............P1060427.JPGP1060428.JPGP1060429.JPGP1060430.JPGP1060431.JPG

I've since found that I'm missing some decals - Japanese characters on the wings & fuselage - but as a quick boost to my confidence, it seems to have succeeded. I'm working on something else - but I'm going to leave off build logs for the moment, just pick it up when I feel like it......................

Now, here's an odd thing - this is the HB box I have................HOBBYBOSS-MITSUBISHI-A5M2-CLAUDE.jpg

And this is a box picture I found on the 'nethobbyboss80288reviewmd_1.jpg

I can only think that the Japanese characters are offensive in some way - and have been censored!

Nice job Dave. This image might help to understand the Japanese inscriptions.
