I was very excited when this kit was announced by ICM a year ago and bought one as soon as it became available in the UK. Unfortunately however, I completely failed to make anything of it at the time, so have decided to give it another go. One of the problems was that the delicate parts are easily damaged during the building process and that I wasn't careful enough putting it all together.

The box contents:

Three sprues (one for the base), and lots of paperwork, including a glossy poster-like reproduction of the box art.

We'll give it a go......

Good luck. He looks good, and the ICM replacement promise seems excellent, so you can sort out anything too catastrophically damaged during clean up.....

Hi Peter
Now here's a figure that will allow you to demonstrate your talent. Looks very nice. I give ICM 10/10 for that after sales guarantee :tongue-out3:

Tim - Yes I liked the replacement guarantee. May come in handy.

Ralph - I'll try.

Jim - The only trouble is that the finish is going to be slightly compromised by the build, but I'll give it a go.

I've now put the basics together:

Lots of fine detail, but too often compromised by sprue gates and mould lines, the big problem with injection moulded figures. However, I did manage to avoid breaking some of the delicate pieces I lost the first time, so there's hope.

The shield has a lightly etched design for hand painting, which I didn't fancy, so I dug out this set of spares, which includes Miniart shields and decals:

Morning Peter

Hopefully you are feeling a little better?

Looks like a challenge ahead, but there is no need to rush it and with the celebrations ahead and all the family locked in,

Yule have a fun time whether you want to or not!

Hopefully a good day, today and perhaps you might see the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction too?

It seems it might be too cloudy for us all today, perhaps?

Its now going to get lighter by 2 minutes every day, that's an hour every month.

Have a good day at the branch

Regards

Steve H

Hi Steve

Still feeling bloody awful I'm afraid, so no painting yesterday. Seem to be suffering from extreme fatigue and wondering is it isn't some sort of ME thing. It's been getting worse all year and I did an online test that concluded it's more than likely, so time to try and see the doctor, though there's little hope of that at the moment. Weird times as well, and it looks like the local roads are going to be clogged now that Dover is closed to traffic.

One bright spot was that Katherine and I went up onto the downs yesterday to see the great conjunction and got a beautiful view of it. Just as it emerged from behind a wisp of cloud a shooting star appeared slightly to the left, which added an extra touch of magic. We will probably go out again this evening to try and see the full conjunction.

Will attempt to paint today, though the light is very bad.

Hi Peter

Sorry to hear you've not been well. Hoping you get to the bottom of it soon and it's not too serious.

Hi Peter. Get yourself checked out. On line medical checkers are not the most reliable tools out there....there are many things other than ME that could cause this so don’t stress yourself unnecessarily.

Monica - I've had to put this back in the cupboard as I just can't see well enough in this light to get at the detail. I'll have to stick to busts for the time-being.

Andrew - I'll survive.

Tim - I'd never take an on-line health check too seriously, don't worry. As you know, I have a whole load of underlying health conditions which affect my well being - diabetes, hypertension, sinusitis, depression - and they, and the medication I have to take for them, can all combine to make me feel pretty lousy. I tend to underestimate the effects of stress as much as anything, and Christmas, what with the added pressures of the lockdown etc this year, is taking it's toll. I do have regular health checks and it's helpful that my wife is as very experienced doctor (specialising in old age!), so I have someone keeping an eye on me.
