I'm afraid you've got a loooong way to go Tony before you come close to John's level of squalor.....
I speak, of course, as possessor of an equally squalid bench

After the gruelling task of applying all four decals :smiling5: ,ive now given the airframe a panel line wash . This is not something i normally do as im not a big fan - a lot of the time I think its overdone and looks weird - but the plain green of this one needed a bit of something to break it up a bit . I wont be doing it too much as this aircraft was a one off and didnt see service so wouldnt have got that dirty. It got a dark dirt on top and a light dirt underneath. Next jobs are attaching the knocky off bits ( undercarriage , cannons , pitot , balance weights etc.)B4925E69-995D-47A7-A1A9-633FAC2C33D9.jpeg

Big push on this one today . Ive added all the fiddly bits ( undercarriage, rocket rails , cannons , pitot and the balance weights on wingtips and rudder ) I used brass tube for the balance weights and cannons and the kit part for the pitot , the weights were added using blobs of Ultra glue . The rudder balance weight was a bit trickier , I used an old cat food tin to cut out the fixing plate for the top of the rudder then added the weight with brass rod and ultra glue again . After painting these bits it was all given a coat of matt and a little light exhaust staining. The kit machine gun wasnt a bad representation so i just jazzed it up a bit with a rear handle and sight from brass wire and a bit of glue again . Ive now unmasked the canopy fitted the gun and added the propeller . The prop was the kit item but the spinner was from the i- 185 kit . All thats left to do now is add the aerial wire ( plus ive just noticed ive not demasked the landing light) and its done. Heres a few pics and ill be putting up a completed thread tomorrow , thanks for watching , cheers tony9454F639-8B15-4483-9F1E-D4BB7FCF0F56.jpeg6AC264D5-64B9-4276-9822-F95768096A51.jpegA4B44D8B-355B-42A9-893A-BCB58A847401.jpegFBCB1D8D-7E93-4299-B222-0EC10E729299.jpeg2E3DC6C7-424E-405E-913D-AAFB822519E8.jpeg41D773AB-F989-430E-937F-0638331740DC.jpeg068E7E58-6318-4C6F-B70F-4A1908FDD93A.jpeg58D6787A-6FF7-4C8F-BE8F-03A6711C5999.jpegEFDBCF4C-291C-4B37-A1D6-1E25A662E98A.jpegBE253493-2861-4E8F-AFF2-FD4E61066B10.jpeg6D15C3B3-017A-4899-9D19-0166FB2BF16F.jpeg041EE1FA-CE59-46C1-879D-C0803DCC2196.jpeg
