i picked this lot up in a sale in Boyes ages ago and thought it would be good to try and use them for a dio GB elsewhere

im not sure in what direction its going to go at the moment, possibly the WMIK and Jackal and a few of the troops watching over the quads crossing a ravine, or perhaps the Rover broken down. i dont plan on anything elaborate since im crap at doing dio bases

scale is strange to me, not sure how im going to get on with 1/48 vehicles, first time working with them in this scale

Laurie used this lot for his Helo dio. They looked rather good, interesting what you do with them.

I did the Snatch Land Rover, it was quite easy to work with as 1/48 is unfamiliar to me too. I think that you'll enjoy building these.

after a week on night shifts ive finally found the enthusiasm to make a start

an afternoons work results in 2 quads nearly finished, 2 trailers needing wheels and the main part of the Jackel done

hope to make a start on the Rover tomorrow

ive also got the figures together, ive made them all just not sure which ones i will be using

they are a bit of small, im used to 1/35!.....would have been nice if Airfix had made a driver and a gunner for the Jackel or WMIK

im struggling with the juggling on this lot.........i dont like having two kits on the go, ive now got 2 x quads/trailers, 1 x WMIK, 1 x Jackal and a gaggle of troops!!!! lol........even harder when everything is the same colour!.....not even thought about the base yet!

ive painted everything since i figure im not going to be able to paint them when assembled, this way i can just touch things up

from left to right

2 quads + trailers then the WMIK then the Jackal

i am still working away at this.....slow going when its a couple of things at once lol

im impressed how detailed these kits are, and surprised just how many bits are in the boxes!

the jackal and rover are nearing completion.....looking forward to doing all the touching up and moving on to the figures

ive started the base, dio's are not my thing at all so keeping this simple

two slabs of polystyrene glued together, made a gully at one end which will be crossed by one of the quads

lots of pva and covered in kiln dried sand

This looking interesting!

Just wish someone would bring these kits out in 1 35, 1 48 plays havoc with the old peepers

next step is a sand dust wash here and there, then add the remaining greeblies, then get it all together
