Saw a interesting take on reproducing zimmerit on the miniafv (all one word) web site perhaps it's old hat but I'd not seen it done before ,incase its moved from the front page it's done on a tiger burger? Crane thingy ,ok its 1/72 scale but worth a look even by the 35ers ,Simon T well worth a look must admit you were the first person that sprung to mind ,hoping some find this something they can make their own take on Dave

Thanks David - does give a reasonable finish by the look of it.
Think I would pull the wheels off the lighter and mount one on a handle so no chance of going over the already pressed patterns

The little wheels could also be used on putty in the same fashion as the Trumpeter 1/35 zim wheels - may be worth experimenting with

I have been toying with the idea of 3D printing some serrated wheels - I can draw them no problem, just not sure the printer I have can do a good enough job at the small scale. Would be fine for 120mm scale

For now though I think I still prefer my old fashioned pyrogravure method
