This my entry and will be built as a garage service vehicle and easy conversion just by leaving off the police signs but I will be keeping the orange stripes and putting the blue lights to orange and hopefully finding a tool kit to go in the back.
Here's the victim.WP_20181001_07_23_31_Pro.jpg

Hi Peter, looking to see how you put this together. Simon's doing a similar kit but he's usually disassembling or should I say dissecting it to show it's bare bones. :smiling6:

Cheers,
Richard

Richard - they are not just similar they are essentially the same kit. Peter's is a re-box of the original Esci kit

Good luck Peter - does it still have a lot of sinkage and that awful silver grey plastic?

Don't worry I have bought some new rust pigments so rest assured it will have lots of rust on it.

Hi Peter
Really interesting to see Simon and yourself working on the same kit. I shall follow along, this old kit could be a challenge.

At least yours is moulded in a better colour than mine Peter - none of that horrible silver :thumb2:

Pics are a bit dark though so can't see if it has the same sinkage problems as mine - hopefully not

No I was heavily sedated after Camogate
Pete ignore us please several of us are from the planet Zog .
That's a nice weathering set, I've had most of those separtely, some good shades to work with. You might find a light rust addition to that set will pay dividends.
John.

Hi Peter - don't forget that body panels are aluminium over a steel structure so no rust on wings, door skins, wheel-arches

I am going to leave the body for a bit I am going to have a go at the exhaust I have sprayed it in mig steel and then using liquid poly brushed it where wanted and using my Revell weathering Powder dab it on while the glue is wet and I have put a couple of holes in and a bit of black around the holes to simulate leaking exhaust.WP_20181007_17_30_21_Pro.jpgWP_20181007_17_34_38_Pro.jpgWP_20181007_17_37_29_Pro.jpgWP_20181007_17_37_43_Pro.jpgWP_20181007_17_59_29_Pro.jpgWP_20181007_17_37_54_Pro.jpgWP_20181007_17_44_04_Pro.jpgWP_20181007_17_55_03_Pro.jpg

Finished off the body work with some weathering and light rust on the front of the bonnet and some on the hinges.WP_20181010_17_26_10_Pro.jpgWP_20181010_17_26_17_Pro.jpgWP_20181010_17_26_26_Pro.jpgWP_20181010_17_26_33_Pro.jpg

I think the rust looks okay Peter, I also like the worn and greasy look, as the vehicle is a garage recovery it would be filthy and I think you have nailed it mate.

Just noticed the tyres, have you scrubbed them to get that dull look?
