Takes me back to my rally marshalling days. You wouldn't believe the number of famous names who'd try to argue that their clock was right and the official one had added several seconds to their time.
I had a 1300 Mk 1 Estate, one of the best cars I've had. Later I used a 1600 GL Mk II while developing engine electronics and instrumentation for a Ford supplier.

Thanks Peter. Well I was a Rally and race marshal from around 1973 onwards . I/ we used both mk2 estates and vans for our kit car builds!Dutton Sierra.jpg
this is mine which was one of five we built for friends and their families. They also built sorts cars for themselves too, and rebuilt Lotus Elans and Lotus Elite, the early ones.

Friends used to describe my TR4A as a kit car - it had so many parts replaced!

A little progress, the engine complete adding fine tubing as plug leads and 'bluing' the exhaust manifold to show heat from engine. Also added engine to floorpan and small interior items, seats, seatbelt decals (used my own as kit ones are black and wouldn't be seen ) plus handbrake, gear stick fire extinguishers and pedals. Instructions suggest these are to be fitted after the rollcage which is the wrong way round.

Here's today's work,
rollcage fitted, then shave a bit off each side of the dash, so it slides in between the door cards........

Well Si, if you are anywhere near the UK/Eire, they are still building them in Eire and rallying them with great success, in fact they have various different classes to cover every type of rally car.

Smashing project.
This was my first car. I wrote it off just outside Nuneaton. Driving like a teenaged prat.
