Hi all
Wouter, Fernando and Peter - greatly appreciate you support :thumb2:
Gloss coat and decals started.
Now those fold over the wing decals were worrying me. I was especially concerned about the stripes - I feared they would just get all messed up. I decided it would be better to cut them off and fit them separately. I left a tiny piece of the stripe so that when putting the stripes on I would be able to position them properly.

Seems to work OK. You can see the bits left to locate the stripes.

Stripes added. Had to cut the decal for the stripes to fit into the groove of the flap.

I'll give it another go with the MicroSol. There are roundels and letters/numbers decals to fit on top of the stripes.

Respect that you are giving this a go, Jim. Decals like that can be bad for your nerves and really are challenging I reckon. Some more Sol should do the trick indeed.

Jim,
Great work, even folding the large one round neatly would have been a challenge to far for me, but you have made a great job of it.

Hi Jim,
I went into a cold sweat just looking at the decals. Looking good so far, hope the rest play nicely for you!

Looking good Jim. Should have known that a careful modeller like yourself would have no trouble.

Hi all
Thanks guys :thumb2:
Getting there. Some may need another coat of MicroSol but generally not too bad. Some of the decals needed a little trim to fit OK.

The no 24 is on the undercarriage doors but extends outside the door itself. The kit provides for the 'bits' needed if building with the wheels down. Bottom right are the doors with their numbers and the ends of the numbers are around the wheel wells.

Still a way to go but I'm actually gaining in confidence with these decals :tongue-out3:

Neat work on the decals Jim, your method of cutting up the stripes for an easy fit paid off nicely :thumb2: .

Are you sure that's 1\72 scale cause that close up of the nose is outstanding.

Excellent work Jim. Like you I've built the 1:72 I wouldn't mind the same again in a bigger scale.

This is looking absolutely superb Jim, loving the paintwork and those decals are challenging to say the least but you’ve totally mastered them. Only one problem with this build though - it’s making me want to get one of these and my stash ain’t getting any smaller!!!!! Top class work mate , cheers tony
