Hi all
Thanks very much for your kind comments.
The sea was done rather differently to how I have done it before. I stuck a piece of rough, heavy water colour paper onto a board. I then painted it with cheap acrylic paints. I tried to paint parallel diagonal lines to show waves. This was then covered with Liquitex Medium Gloss Gel. I then set the hull into the wet gel and used an old brush to texture the bow waves and the wake. The gel is white but dries clear. It has some advantages over the clear silicon I usually use. It is acrylic not silicon, it can be painted and it stays workable for far longer. The gel was left for 24 hours - it sticks the hull down onto the board. I used to use white silicon for the wave crests etc but this stuff takes paint so I just used white acrylic. When all dry it looked a bit too shiny so all the water was given a diluted coat of Vallejo matt varnish.
Thanks again guys :thumb2:
Jim
