This Klemm L20 Monoplane was built from a German paper kit,lots of tedious parts to cut out first but I like the challenges of models such as this,makes into a model with vintage character.
Out with the scissors and a sharp modelling knife.
Plenty of scope for improvement in assembly,strengthen with balsa where required.
Start with the seats and cockpit area
Use a small steel rule to make the folds
The fuselage is folded around the cockpit module
Use a piece of wooden dowel to bend in the rear decking
Trusty Christmas card pegs come into use again
Work carefully by cutting out the many small parts
Tail assembled and fitted
I glued the flimsy spar sections onto thick card cutting them out with a metal straight edge,pre assemble them on a flat surface
For further ease of assembly and strength I inserted balsa between the spars
Fold the paper skinning over the assembled inner spars,glue at the trailing edges and allow to dry overnight
Make a simple assembly jig to attach the wings with required dihedral angle
Add the undercarriage and propeller stand back and admire this antique aeroplane
