Ok now everyone on my thread will be drunk after those recipes I’m worried about John and his meds with Texas Tea. I guess we’ll have a tea party now

I’ve been working on the Mitchell most of the morning it’s been raining here so not much I can do in the garden. I was going up plant more Beans, Squash and Onions oh well back to the model. I worked on the cockpit and the mid- gun turret both are from the Airfix kit and they are going to work. I also cut the wings off the center piece that snaps together I thing it will now make a better fit. The decals are very yellow so I’m trying a old car modelers trick by placing them in a baggie and putting them in a window with full sunlight we’ll see how this goes. Enjoy the pics

Nice work Lee, looking forward to seeing the restored Mitchell. I suspect you'll be waiting quite some time for those decals to whiten in those cloudy conditions

Hi Lee
Definitely worth doing - can't let this old model fade and die. Certainly seems that you have the refurbishment well under control. It is actually looking rather good already.

Brilliant Lee, you have a love of these old kits and certainly the skills to update them so well.
That recipe for the drink sounds some what explosive to me, certainly put any matches away , glad I don't drink, well only for medicinal purposes . :smiling3:

Simple syrup: in a small saucepan, bring equal amounts of sugar and water to a boil; simmer until the sugar is dissolved, 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool completely. This eliminates the sugar crystals and results in an even distribution of sweetness. Commonly used in baking I'm told. I used to make Old Fahioneds for my father-in-law and this was the "correct way" to drink bourbon or rye if not 'neat'. PaulE

Thanks for the Recipe Paul. Another correct way would have been the Manhattan. Invented by none other than Winston Churchill's mother. JR. , this is for you; when using for "Medicinal Purposes", you must always take it "neat". And lastly, It was God who invented Whiskey, so the Irish wouldn't rule the world! Sorry for High Jacking your thread Lee. Cheers, Rick H.

Done some more work on this old girl this morning.First I made a new nose gun perch using some thin plastic styrene so I could get some weight in the nose and it looks better. Next I feared this was going to be a “tail sitter” so I got my Fly Fishing Weight’s out and added them to the nose. The MG for the nose I’m using from a old Hasegawa Half Track.
