Hi everyone,

Well im on my next build now. Ive chosen the Camaro for a change of style really and its been bugging me to be built!

Im still gathering ideas for the kit such little modifications and some tweaks to make it my own :smiling3:

Well Here it is:

The kit seems reasonable quality and has minimal flash if any! Couple of mould lines but nothing a little bit of wet and drying won't overcome :smiling3:

Aiming to get the main parts of the kit primered and then ill be able to get cracking on the floor plan and interior :smiling3:

Ill keep you all posted

Many Thanks,

Ben

Thanks for the comment,

Ben

Hi, will be interested in the final model as I have a Revell 69 Yenko Camaro waiting in the wings. As well as a 69 Dodge Charger, 67 Shelby Mustang and thinking about a 1970 Pontiac Firebird.

Do you scratch build any parts - e.g. wiring? and are you planning to paint it as the box cover?

Hi Ian,

Nice to know, and you've got a good collection there all lovely cars and will be keeping a eye out for your builds :smiling3:

Well I will no doubt wire the engine, and ad some interior mods of some form, Im planning on painting the car Black and using the white decal stripes which come with the kit, I was thinking about leaving the stripes but on this car i think the stripes will set it off :smiling3:

Hi all,

Little Update but never the less!

View attachment 41348

All three parts with mould lines removed and then sprayed in Halfords White primer, I would recommend Hallfords white primer as its great value for money and it does the job a treat!

View attachment 41350

Well this will the first time ive used my airbrush, I thought it would be a ideal opportunity to have a go. I used Vallejo Model Air Black and very happy with those paints too!

Till Next time,

Ben

Hi all, Blimey well its been very busy my way as just got a new car and well exams coming up so lots sorting out to be done, But Ive managed the past couple of nights to get a few lil bits done.

Interior has to base coat of black ready for the detail touch ups :smiling3:

View attachment 43977

Here's the Lighting side of it, Ive got a programmed chip with custom timings etc.. and a selection of LED's to hopefully light this model up :smiling3:

View attachment 43978

Ive mounted a 3.5mm jack plug in the base of the car so the model can be removed from a display case without wires etc and can be just a normal standalone model, well thats the plan anyway

View attachment 43984

Little bit of paint work to sort and once the floor plan has be weathered the jack socket will bit less noticeable.

Well there it is guys a small update but getting there slowy!

Cheers,Ben

Hi all,

ive made some more progress just waiting for a bit more to be done tbh so my posts have some material :P

Here we go:

Body is in final paint and is bare metal foiled and also the body has been polished with auto glym polish

View attachment 48642

The picture doesn't really do the high gloss black finish justice but on the final pictures ill make sure to capture the shine :D

Next ive nearly finished the interior just needs some scale magazines adding which im in the process of making then that should be sorted

just a note i made some material mats to add a bit more detail along with the usual dash and others little bits

View attachment 48643

ive also got the chassis weathered up a little to make it look used not so factory fresh and the head phone jack is installed and wired up ready for connection to the chip

View attachment 48644

well that's the update again

not much left on the to-do list so soon will be a completed model!

Cheers, Ben

nice one Ben..some very tasty details there. this is inspiring me to make a muscle car. they look great with the bare metal foil, and theres also some great options ive seen for adding interior fabrics and stretching your skills with the airbrush. theres some gr8 jobs on youtube.

the underside detailing is fantastic!

cheers guys very much appreciated :smiling3:

Im looking into detailing parts more than i was as the effects from it really make a difference to the whole model.

Interior flocking, hinging doors etc... they'll be the next hurdle

Cheers,Ben
