Despite the hardships of the construction side of the figure the final result was excellent. Some lovely shadows on the uniform. Looking forward to seeing how the final figure turns out

very nice collection Peter. Looking forward to the group reveal.

BTW have you heard of Bigchild Creations. A figure company that does mostly fantasy figures but they do have a range of outstanding Roman figures at 75mm scale.

Scottie - Thanks for looking in.

John - Thanks also. I had a look at the Goodchild site and they do have some very fine stuff. Unfortunately, I find anything under 1/16 too tiring for my eyes these days otherwise I would have been tempted - especially by the Raquel Welch!

Raquel Welch should be big enough !

Loving the painting Peter, esp the weathering on the great coat, certainly adds to the detail.
Looking fwd to the Russian of course.:nerd:

Rick - He does look a bit green behind the ears.

John - Well, certain parts of the Raquel Welch figure would be no problem, but there's not much drapery to speak of - it's her in One Million Years BC. Glad you like how these figures are coming along.

I've now painted the top half of the figure:

This is a delicately sculpted figure, so it took a while to get all the detail painted in. The base for the uniform was Vallejo Russian Uniform. I'm now debating whether to use the same for the trousers, or to paint them in a cavalry blue.

Morning Peter

I'll vote for blue trousers too, Gromit LOL

Lovely drapery on the bemedalled top Peter.

The Sam Brown and belting looks cracking too.

Bright and clear today, should be a good painting day and warm down Saff too?

Had a lost day yesterday, felt awful and slept most of it, but feeling like painting today, hopefully I can focus!

The news is just too depressing to watch these days, so back to the planner, Netflix and You Tube!

Have a good day with the trousers and keep away from those crowds

Regards

Morning Steve

Sorry to hear you have been feeling iffy. I think the news doesn't help health issues. I'm having a bout of sinusitis and sleeping a lot too. I've also spent some time U-Tubing and found the BBC's 'Totally British 70s Rock and Roll' - some wonderful obscure acts like The Pretty Things, Babe Ruth etc. I'm currently obsessed by the Heavy Metal Kids' 'Hangin' On'.

Blue trousers it is for this man then. I'm keen not to cover up too much of the tunic with equipment so I may re-position some parts - it really needs the folds in the skirts of the tunic to bring it to life.

Raining here in the Beautiful South, but warm - good virus incubating weather!
