Thank you everyone for looking in and taking the time to comment.

I have working away at the Nike figure. She is nearly done now, wings and left hand to go. Lots of things that could be better. I have used nearly 5 LBS of Magic Sculpt so far and this is a much better medium to work in than the air dry clay. By the way if you are looking to buy Magic Sculpt I found a local taxidermy supplier who sells it via the interweb. Apparently it is widely used to make noses, ears etc for stuffed animals. Who knew.

Hi John
You have really captured the look of the original. I look forward to the finish which can't be far away.

He's tough. She's magnificent. What a difference in mediums. Looks like two different sculptors' style approaches. One somewhat rough w/a lot of character & one a polished marble lifelike rendering. Outstanding work. PaulE

Beautiful work on the sculptures John. Sizewise and 5 LBS of Magic Sculpt you must have hands of steel now with all that kneading :smiling2:

Cheers,
Richard

Guys many thanks for all your kind comments. This has been a great challenge and I have learnt a lot from doing it. I have now added Monumental mason to by business card. I just hope the museum likes it and that our exhibit goes well in October.

Great work John, that's a wonderful piece.
They definitely chose the right person to create that for them.
