Before I make a start on my Miura kit I just wanted to check something.

The wheels are supplied with a kind of chrome plating, on a sprue with other parts. I will be painting them silver. Will they need any special preparation, removing the plating etc., or can I just treat them like normal plastic parts with a scuff/sand where possible, clean, then prime or paint? I have Mr Color solvent and Vallejo model air available if one is more suitable than the other.

I know how I'd do real chrome parts but that doesn't help me here :smiling5:

Thanks,
Andy.

what Peter says ^^^^^^

if its cheap plating it will come off as you watch it!.....if its good just leave it for a few hours....just wash REALLY well afterwards

Not that I doubted your advice but I've done a test on a piece of sprue and it worked perfectly. The plating came off in just a few minutes.

Thanks again.
