A combination of work and preparing for Euro put this project on hold and only yesterday remembered it is for the Group Build which ends in November!!!!

So quickly back to it this afternoon 3B24AF27-6505-464C-87EC-7C2DFE40F2DE.jpegwith a little refining of the face and some bulking out of the headdress. i am still sculpting the head as a seperate part incase I release it but I have my doubts about the likeness being good enough.

Tonight will be more work on the headdress, refining the way the folds drape.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

john - my wife kindly posed for me wearing the largest of her scarfs, I took a few photos which I use as the reference, nothing like using some 'real' reference material. And no, I am not posting any of those photos of her!

I know that i have missed the end of the WW1 Group Build, here is an update of the nearly finished bust.

It still needs a little more work on the head-dress, especially the area above the eyes. The face needs a little more refinement, smooth a couple of places as well as finish off the tie. Hopefully over the next few days.

It's been a productive day today - some progress on this bust, virtually finished:

The headband is based on one at the IWM.

Now I plan to leave it for a week, not look at it so that I can return with 'fresh eyes' which will help me to see how and where it needs to be tweaked. On the whole i am pleased so far.

Jon - I wonder the same thing! I think it is a matter of not expecting to get it right first time, that some parts need to be re-worked, both adding and taking away putty. This is the third nose!!!

Hi Peter
That looks very good indeed. As others have noted the likeness is excellent.
