At one time I would have recommended a starter kit for a beginner, but by my own experience, and seeing the problems other experienced modellers are having, I've changed my mind.
Nothing wrong with the models ( mostly ), it's the paints, these little
Airfix/Humbrol pots are very poor, coverage and consistency is not what you would expect. I don't think it matters what sort of brush you apply it with!
I have a
Revell starter kit - but that is hampered by not having any black or yellow paint - the boxart showing the black anti-glare panel, and the yellow tail. The model in this case is ancient dating back to the 60's, so I'll give this a miss ( just as well I didn't pay too much for it! ).
This GB has been educational to me - it has clarified what are the minimum basic tools that you would need to make a satisfactory simple model!
