D.A.Russell was the famous editor of the Aeromodeller magazine, his articles, plans and models were all to a very high standard and above all his enthusiasm for the hobby abounded,a good example of this was his large Westland Lysander project which developed over a long period of time and was a regular feature in the magazine at that time.

The twin cylinder engine for this model will shortly come up for auction ( see latest issue of the BMFA news ) and will probably command a lot of money as well ?

Many famous specialist titles by Russell were published and many like the engine have become collectors pieces.

The Russell family are well known for their involvement with aviation in many forms,M.C.Russell has operated historic aircraft from Duxford for many years including the joy riding Rapide which has given many their first taste of flying.
