Hi all I decided to resurrect this model. Not sure which way I'm going yet, tricolour, rat bike or maybe another custom job.

I actually quite like how it looks with the covers off and dusty it kind of looks naturally neglected

More dismantling.
I think I'm leaning to stripped street racer.
I've put the radiator on the 1/12 porsche dio to give an idea of size (the porsche is not small)

More rebuilding of the engine (I really think I'm getting the hang of making plastic look like metal) I already like the look of the whole thing over the look of the original engine, I thought I had slightly over weathered the first build so I'm cutting back a bit on that

Next update (I wish I'd kept the instructions) I'm quite pleased with how it's going so far.

Looks fabulous Ken, but are you sure you don’t need a Haynes manual for that

Looking good. You're doing a great job. Ever thought of doing the real thing?

Hi all started the first bit of surgery on the Ducati (no going back now)

IMG-4112.jpg

I just hope the new paint job works.

I put a 1/9 bike in front of this behemoth to show how big it is.

I'm aiming for a subtle shade paint job, a sort of echo back to my favourite bike I ever owned (not a Ducati who could afford one) but my beloved honda 750 K4 (I know they didn't do it in the colour I'm depicting but I'm hoping the subtle added shade will work)

Hi all started the paint job, unfortunately it's a bit too subtle (I wanted a slight orange tint to the black paint job so went for alclad clear orange) 6 coats and you can only barely see it (not at all in the photos) so I will have to rethink and try another method.

I had forgotten how big this was Ken! Interesting see what you come up with, always loved your colour schemes and tinkering with bits.
