The Edgar Percival EP.9 was to prove the final business venture by the famous Percival who joined forces with E.N.Wickner to finance and build this functional and rugged utility aircraft.

Most of these aircraft finished up in places such as New Zealand and used for top dressing and other agricultural work, only one flys today and that too is in NZ.

As a model once again I can testify that she makes a good subject having the wing and tail area sensibly required, the only thing to watch out for is make sure that the ailerons are fitted with some form of differential as adverse yaw can be a problem especially with high wing designs this one included.

The model lends itself to some fun by fitting an hopper where flour can be loaded and dropped at low level !

As the design is fairly flat then sheet construction can be employed in quite a few areas.

If you want something really special then a radial engine can be incorporated as in full size practise a Armstrong Siddeley Cheetah was tried and shown at Farnborough.

The EP.9 eventually evolved into the Lancashire Prospector and was licence built by the Lancashire Aircraft corporation at Samesbury.
