Well after what feels like an absolute age I finally managed to finish this baby. It's an Academy 1/48 F-14A, the kit was on whole not too bad but I had some major fit issues with the join under the cockpit and there was very little detail here too so after lots filling, sanding and re-scribing I manged to get it somewhere near ready for painting. Oh and most of the decals fell apart during application....JOY! I added an Airies resin cockpit + some Eduard photo etch.

This has been a bit of a labour of love though as the Tomcat has always been one of my favourite aircraft (who didn't watch Topgun and want to fl

F-14's and make love to Kelly McGillis?).

Anyway here it is for you to see, all coments welcome.

All the best

Chris

What can I say Chris a fantastic build and great work with some subtle weathering. The Airers cockpit really finishes off the model. A labour of love worth labouring over. Well done! 5*s without a doubt.

Cheers fellas your kind words are very much appreciated. As always there's room for improvement in my builds but that's the fun of it. Got my eye on a Hasegawa f-14 now, figured that for the money it'll probably be a much better kit. (Unless anyone can advise me otherwise)

Regards

Chris
