For small stuff you need a small aperture (High F number) to get depth of field and low ISO number. This means tripod and remote release (or self timer) to prevent shake. Only other bit of advice I can give is to get the viewpoint down to the figures eye level. That adds more to realism than anything else....Ron is a master at it...look at his stuff to see what I mean...

Highlights started at lunchtime today. It's a slow progress (no change there) of gradually building up tones of dry-brushing.

And that's that.
I'm not sure about the magnification of these photos; they show a few imperfections up on a 1/35th fig.
Having said that, it's been a real pleasure and although I NEVER want to go near tartan again, there'll definitely be more red coated Brits in my diary.
The chest ribbon is the Crimea medal - so this lad would've been a drummer boy in that conflict. Who cares? It's near enough.
That's the end of the year's figure modelling; aircraft next.
(I still ain't convinced about resin figures)
