An interesting nostalgic journey Jakko. It's turned out well. You can certainly appreciate why Verlinden was considered one of the best back then.

It's turned out well. You can certainly appreciate why Verlinden was considered one of the best back then.
I think he was one of the first to really do the more artistic style of painting, of not just simply painting a model like the real thing but shading and highlighting it to make it look better even if that meant it didn’t actually have the “correct” colours on it. By today’s standards it’s old-fashioned, of course, but he did pave the way for those, IMHO.

Very nice. I like that style a lot.
I must say I prefer more heavily weathered models, but it certainly looks OK. My technique for this isn’t really up to scratch, though, largely because of a lack of practice — as well as a lack of all of the Humbrol enamel paints that will probably give the best results for this method.
