Andy - perhaps they have already moved sideways - away from other tanks!. It must have been terrifying.

Superb work Peter. Just love dioramas. All my work is now in this sector.

Hi guys

Thanks for the comments.

if anybody is wondering about the sandbags, they are the zig-zag trench section from Model Cellar: They are really good, the ends are not cut square, but are jagged so that different shapes can be linked together to create a longer length or any shape you want. Here is a photo off their website:

Unfortunately I do not know of any UK supplier which is a shame - the stuff is reasonably priced.

the rest of the base is plywood covered with burr walnut veneer. Usually I just paint the ends black, but in this case I opted for the veneer so the endges had a pattern.

i have found some time to work on two Germans. Here are a couple of photos:

the one furtherst to the left is not good, the pose does not look right , and his back needs to be pushed right abainst the sandbags, so he will come off, and a lot more conversion work will be needed.

I'm not in the mood for converting 1/35 figures so back on shelf this one goes for a little while. Meanwhile here is a photo of a tweet which amused me:

Looking very good,Peter.
I'm glad you mentioned the third figure, he is a bit weak, but I'm sure a man of your talents will sort him out in no time.
who are the figures by?

I think the dio is looking good Peter. Will definitely look better when the third figure is sorted out. Lots of drama for five items including the tank. In those days the infantry could outpace the tanks but I can imagine seeing something they have never seen before lumbering towards them with no place to run but left or right slowed down by mud.

"Substitute ingredients..." yeh right :smiling5:

Cheers,
Richard

Hi Guys

The figures are Masterbox figures.

The Tommy was c0nverted from the German on top of the trench, the fcowering German was used OOB, while one of the
tommy's was converted into a German.

the 'dodgy' German came from this set ...

... and is a conversion of the Russian soldier.

Nice!
You know, I think you might get away with just lowering his left arm so that it is braced against the trench wall, rather raised to ward off the tank?
And maybe his left foot needs something to push against, being flexed like it is.
