Hi all well this has been a long build a year and a day to be precise! Thoroughly enjoyable I would recommended buying and building as you can pick up as little as £14.99. The only thing that lets the model down is the canopy but you can get a resin version from Ally Cat Models for £19 including masks. All comments welcome

Hi Vaughan
That is quite simply stunning. Just shows that with skill and patience great results can be had without spending a lot.

That is excellent. Clean lines. Brilliant paint and decals sharp enough to draw blood .

Oh did I say I like it!

Very nicely built and finished Vaughan. Is that the aftermarket canopy, or the kit part? I looks fine to me.

Pete the canopy is the kit part which looks ok, but you need to do some careful masking to hide the tabs that hold the three parts of each section together. If you look through my build thread I explain it better. I'm still waiting for the Allycat resin canopy to arrive which I will use on another Arado 196 I have in my stash.

Yes, I thought you'd said it was the kit part Vaughan, but I couldn't see where you'd hidden the tabs!

Pete the tabs are visible along the length of the top edge of the canopy so they have been masked to hide them. This makes the framework too thick I suppose I know that they are there so wanted to hide them but others might of not have noticed. If you look at post 86 second image down on my build you can see the tabs prior to painting.Hope that make sense?
