Hi all I've been eagerly awaiting this since I ordered it with my birthday money and it's finally here

It's beautifully packaged, feels like a high quality product.

The one little gripe I have with it is Revell partly assemble it for you like this for instance

There are a few other parts pre assembled.

Problem is the engine block is cast so I've got to find a way to disassemble it to make the cast effect on the block, as you can see it looks far too shiney and smooth as it is.

The kit looks great, i think they made 4 in this series some are no longer in production but I'm going to try and get the full set (I will have to eBay for the rest)

Hi Ken
Something very different. Strange not having parts on sprues. How are the parts numbered? Revell instructions are usually OK, what are these like?

Instructions seem good tbh I never thought of the numbering of parts thing, I've never built one but don't all resin kits come like this with all the parts in separate bags and not on sprues.

It's a great little kit, wish I had better skills to do it justice.
John it's 4 1/2 inches by 3 1/4 ( sorry not gone into the devil's invention of metricafication)

Ken.
Thanks, I could see the Vallejo Bottle in one photo, that starter motor in comparison gives an idea of the size.
I loving this, keep it coming please.
John.

Another update It's really hard trying to make plastic look like metal, all my usual tricks don't seem to be working, need to try some more washes.

Ken, there's some great detail in this build, are you going to go for a clean or used look. At the size it is I should think its hard to paint a metal look anyway.
John.

Hi John my choice would always be old and worn out, not really applicable to this kit, but I'm definitely going for used. It may end up not in the supplied display base.

Ken,
looking at the parts of this ( almost ) makes me nostalgic. In the years before I retired, I worked for a German diesel engine manufacturer. I was senior design engineer on the project for a new industrial engine ( gen sets, pumps etc ), and I designed the cylinder head and crankcase for this. This was made for us by a foundry in the UK, using rapid prototyping processes - in cast iron. I went up to the foundry to see/pick up the first components - pretty chuffed, as it seemed to have worked well. I was pretty proud of this - until I went to the loading bay to pick up a head & block.
There was my 4-cylinder, on a pallet - with a Bugatti Veyron block on one side, and a Bentley block on the other, sexy V-blocks - talk about carthorse and Derby Winners! Made me realise how simple my design was!!!! Took a lot of the gloss off for me!

Nice application of the grime around the carb, looks used but not uncared for. :thumb2:

Hi all I don't have access to a big American car so have had to loosely, and I mean loosely base this on the biggest car I have access to ( my bosses 340sl merccedes)( would have preferred his rolls royce) I've had to be creative with the measurements and this is very simplified, just a framework tho add suspension struts to and stuff.

It is purely to allow me to add some of the many engine connections a couldn't add with the supplied stand. I may not even use this, but and this is a big but, if it looks ok and I can find plans for it maybe I will try to scratch a full 1/6 car to put it in.

Don't know tbh Colin
I'm fairly sure they are. My car has one. Just one mind you ! It's a four barrel carb, which really pours the petrol in by the bucket full.

Hi all well the engine is nearly complete, I've added a few more details to the engine bay ( these are purely to add interest and not based on any car) as I said I need an engine bay to add the connections to the engine.
