Thanks for all the positive feedback on the build. Must say I am enjoying building this one, being a realist I will never weather the model like what Ron (& others) will do but hopefully it will turn into a reasonable display model.
Dave is quite right in his comparison between the vessels of this era and the modern ones. Naval architects are probably under pressure from the number crunchers. and there has been a seismic shift in how freight is handled.
Managed to locate this piece of history about Benledi's sister Benwyvis and the third vessel Benalbanach on the Nautilus Union's website. There are differences between Benledi and the other two, the cabin windows and the stern aren't the same. Reading the article there was a fourth vessel yet research shows her to be significantly different. Nevertheless they are all lovely ships which are pleasing to the eye.
